The IT revolution has been more transformative than previous technological revolutions because not only has the IT revolution shaped our economy but also our quality of life. The IT revolution has shaped our economy by relying on consumers to buy products such as Iphones, TVs, wifi, and computers. This causes these items to be considered to be everyday household items. This leads to our quality of life also depending on this products. We rely on our phones for news updates or social media accounts to keep us connected to people that we do not always see everyday. We rely on our TV for news updates as well and other important information such as politics. Social media accounts can help us stay connected to politics. Candidates connect us to them through various social media platforms. Social media platforms allow candidates to spread their campaign across a large variety of people quickly. Previous technological revolutions have allowed for the spread of ideas and beliefs fast too but not as fast and as big of a distance as the IT revolution has. Past technological revolutions have also changed how we communicate with each other. The release of the printing press allowed for people to communicate with a wide spread of people. The IT revolution has affected how and who we communicate with greater than every other revolution. We can now communicate with people around the globe at the speed of light…almost. The IT revolution has been more transformative and has had a greater impact on society than any other technological revolution.

The IT revolution has impacted our quality of life greatly but do you know if it is the best selling item in our economy? If electronics all disappeared what do you think our economy would be like? I fully agree that many people invest their money in gadgets because they are used for entertainment. Politics and communication is very important which social media allows us to be more connected to what is going on in the world around us. In the end of your post i noticed you talked about how the IT revolution gives us the ability to communicate and produce information.

I often do find myself looking at social media to find out news about events or other important things that our happening. I feel that people rely on technology even more now than ever. With more and more apps allowing people to get any information they want or newer cars have backup cameras and people are just relying on those to just backup and know if other cars or people are around there vehicle. I do agree that people can communicate with anyone around the world within a split second and that makes our lives 10 times easier and better in that we can talk to people and tell them anything we need to.

You make an interesting point about how IT affects the economy. With families having multiple TVs, smartphones, and computers, that alone can add up to thousands of dollars per household. When you add on wifi and home security monitoring, it’s a steady source of revenue for the companies that supply them, and creates thousands of jobs for our communities.
